EAF Vows to Equip Halaba’s Under-Construction Stadium

The Ethiopian Athletics Federation (EAF) has vowed to fully equip Halaba’s under-construction football stadium, pledging to provide essential resources and modern facilities to ensure the venue meets national and international standards.

The Federation announced that the Halaba International Stadium, currently under construction in the Central Ethiopia region, must incorporate adequate athletics training facilities. The national federation further stated that it will deliver necessary professional support based on the prepared construction checklist.

On April 10, 2023, a delegation led by Assefa Bekele, Director of Athletics Facilities Services at the Ethiopian Athletics Federation, visited the construction site. According to the federation’s social media announcement, the team met with senior regional officials and experts to discuss athletics training facility requirements and material support.

Construction consultants briefed the federation’s experts on the stadium’s initial operational needs and required sports facilities. The federation’s website noted that a monitoring team, accompanied by Seyfu Alemu, Deputy Head of the Central Ethiopia Regional Youth and Sports Bureau, and Tesfaye Bekele, assessed the construction progress.
